St. Baldrick’s raises money for childhood cancer research. Because kids with cancer often lose their hair during treatment, “Shavees℠” for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation show their support by shaving their heads voluntarily, and inspiring friends and family to donate money to support childhood cancer research.
The 2017 McHenry St. Baldrick’s season raised:
$171,957 for pediatric cancer research
$25,594.09 for local families battling pediatric cancer
453 Heads Shaved
54 Pony Tails Donated
This is an outstanding accomplishment! Without everyone’s dedication and commitment we would not be able to make it happen year after year!
GRAND TOTALS OVER THE PAST 9 YEARS!
From 2009 thru 2017 the community of McHenry has raised
$1,206,134.00 for pediatric cancer research
$162,735.93 have gone to local families with pediatric cancer
Nearly 4,500 heads have been shaved in the last 9 years
Over 300 ponytails have been donated over the past 3 years

Be a National Hero
“Shavees” collect money from friends and family much like a walk-a-thon, and take their turn in the barber’s chair at our local event. Proceeds go to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund childhood cancer research.
Your donation to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation will fund lifesaving children’s cancer research. Find out more.
We greatly appreciate the support of our sponsors. Thank you!
